Week 202

Previous week Next week

Monday

Be ready!

The average response time after an emergency call is eight minutes or less. We are hardwired to respond quickly when danger is imminent. The same attention to urgency ought to be heeded in the spiritual realm as it is in the physical.

‘Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation’ (2:6a NLT).

Read More urgency, reconciliation

Tuesday

Building Bridges

Every encounter we have ought to bring a person closer to the fullness of the gospel.

Every person born on this planet bears the image of Christ. It’s our job to help them realize their true identity.

Read More identity, image, bridges, wisdom

Wednesday

Clean Hands and a Pure Heart

This passage pulls no punches. If we are called to do God’s work, we must do it with pure hearts and motives. Because if we lose that, we lose everything. And we can’t be successful outside of the Holy Spirit’s divine leading and power in our lives.

Read More holiness, motives, clean hands, pure hearts

Thursday

Correction

Warning: Trouble WILL come when we commit to serving Christ. And we WILL make mistakes.

No one likes to make mistakes. But the reality is that we will need to be corrected from time to time. It’s how we respond that builds our character and faith.

Read More correction, repentance, restoration, encouragement, accountability

Friday

Finish what you Started

It’s easy to start but then abandon projects, initiatives, or relationships because we “don’t have enough time”…or money, as was the case in the Corinthian church.

We see in this passage that Paul is exhorting the Christians who have so little to give generously and finish what they started.

Read More generosity, responsibility, finishing

Saturday

Getting Our Priorities Straight

The psalmist begins by affirming God’s goodness to his faithful followers (v 1), but he didn’t always feel that way. After all, as he looked around his world, he observed evil people thriving, while he, one of God’s devoted people, struggled. At some point or other in our lives, we have all dealt with these feelings of envy and the sense that God is not fair.

Read More priorities, jealousy, the wicked, the temple

Sunday

Let your Words be Authentic

In a world where lip-service, distorted truths and blatant fabrications dominate the Internet and every “alt-media” piece going, it’s difficult to know what is real and what isn’t. This uncertainty has created mounting frustration and a widespread yearning for authenticity, whether it’s from news sources, the restaurant we’re dining at, or the people we surround ourselves with.
